In a recent turn of events, Piers Morgan, the outspoken British journalist, has fiercely criticized American TV host Stephen Colbert for what he deems 'distasteful' mockery of Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales.

This criticism comes in the wake of a video released by the Princess, revealing her private battle with cancer and ongoing chemotherapy treatment.

The controversy began when Colbert, during a segment on his show, discussed rumors concerning the Princess's marriage to Prince William.

This was followed by fellow comedian John Oliver making insensitive jokes on his program, which have now been widely condemned in light of the Princess's serious health announcement.

Morgan took to Twitter to express his outrage, stating,

"At a time when compassion should prevail, the choice to mock someone's personal struggles is not only in poor taste but also deeply disappointing."

"The way certain American talk show hosts like @StephenAtHome mocked the Princess of Wales over her marriage in recent weeks now looks especially distasteful."

The debate intensified after Whoopi Goldberg, on 'The View', defended the Royal against the debate over an edited Mother’s Day picture that had previously attracted media attention.

Goldberg described the ongoing speculation as 'irritating' and called for respect towards the Princess's privacy.

The public reaction has been mixed, with some supporting Morgan's stance, while others have labeled his words as 'hypocritical', pointing out his own history of controversial statements.

The situation has highlighted the delicate balance public figures must maintain when addressing sensitive issues.

The Princess's bravery in sharing her diagnosis has been met with widespread support, and many are calling for a more respectful approach from the media and entertainment industry moving forward.
