London, UK — In a heartwarming revelation, Princess Kate Middleton has been quietly making a difference long before her own cancer diagnosis.

The Princess of Wales, known for her impeccable style and signature bouncy brown hair, donated seven inches of her locks to the U.K.-based charity The Little Princess Trust back in 2017.

This selfless act has now come to light, shedding light on her compassion and generosity.

Six years ago, during an appointment at Kensington Palace, Kate’s hairstylist, Joey Wheeler, suggested they put her trimmed hair to good use.

Instead of discarding it, Kate agreed to donate it anonymously to The Little Princess Trust. This remarkable charity provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young people up to age 24 who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment or other conditions.

The trust had no idea that the hair they received was from a royal source; it was sent using someone else’s name, ensuring Kate’s humility and genuine desire to help. “It’s lovely to think that somebody, somewhere — probably more than one person — has received a wig containing Princess Kate’s hair,” said Helen Creese, a spokesperson for the charity.

“It’s a really lovely thought and it’s fantastic for raising awareness, plus it’s gorgeous hair — we all lust after that hair!” Kate’s recent announcement about her cancer diagnosis has touched hearts worldwide. In a video released by Kensington Palace on March 22, 2024, she revealed that she had undergone “major abdominal surgery” in London earlier this year. Initially believed to be non-cancerous, further tests revealed the presence of cancer. Now, Kate is undergoing a “course of preventative chemotherapy” to tackle the disease.

Her strength and resilience have inspired many, and her concern for her young family — Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — reflects the challenges faced by countless women diagnosed with cancer. As Kate bravely battles her own health crisis, her past act of kindness shines even brighter.

The wig made from her hair continues to bring comfort and confidence to children facing their own cancer journeys.

Kate’s legacy extends beyond her royal status; it’s a testament to compassion, empathy, and the power of small gestures that make a big impact.

In a world where headlines often focus on the sensational, Kate Middleton’s quiet act of charity reminds us that kindness and generosity can change lives.

As she navigates her own cancer journey, her legacy of giving lives on, touching hearts and inspiring hope.
