Prince Harry Shares Interesting Insight into Relationship with Prince William
In a candid interview, Prince Harry has shed light on the intricate dynamics of his relationship with his elder brother, Prince William.
The Duke of Sussex, who rarely misses an opportunity to mention William while discussing his own experiences, revealed fascinating details about their bond.
Harry likened the gap between him and William to the relationship between their own children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
“The gap between me and William is very similar to Archie and Lili,” Harry shared during an interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby.
“And to see Lili obsessed with Archie and Archie like ‘no, no Lili, I need my space, I need my space,’ now I get it.”
The Duke reflected on his younger self, admitting that he hadn’t fully grasped the complexities of sibling dynamics at the time.
“I get how irritating the younger sibling can be to the older sibling,” he said. “But in the moment, at the time, I didn’t. I didn’t really realize it.”
Prince Harry’s relationship with his brother has faced significant challenges, especially after Harry’s departure from the royal family.
His candid TV appearances and the release of his memoir, Spare, have strained their once-close bond. Despite hopes of reconciliation, the estranged brothers continue to navigate their differences.
As Harry prepares for an upcoming trip to the UK in May, speculation abounds about whether he and William will attempt to mend their relationship.
However, former BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond remains skeptical. “I doubt that it even occurred to William to call or text his brother,” she wrote in the Independent.
“In the maelstrom of emotion that must have engulfed his heart and head, there could be no room for a sibling who had cut so deeply into the flesh of their once-close relationship.”
